ST. THOMAS AQUINAS St. Thomas Aquinas is a comprehensive high school that accommodates 526 students enrolled in grades 7 to 12. The design of the school was adapted from Holy Trinity Catholic High School, Cornwall, Ontario, which was designed for the same School Board (The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario). The two-storey, 4,093 square-metre building consists of classrooms, a library, a double gymnasium, computer labs, a double-height, wood construction shop, a cafeteria/auditorium, and an administration area. One of the highlights of the school is a large skylight located above the main atrium. The skylight allows natural light to flood interior teaching spaces. The science labs that have punched windows, overlooking the atrium, are teaching spaces that benefit from this skylight. Another feature of the building is the second-floor, curved, curtain wall of the library that overlooks the school entrance. |
