ST. JUDE CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The school design is based on a "core-building concept" that accommodates future changes and expansion at multiple locations. Administration and classroom spaces are organized around a central core area, which consists of specialty areas such as the library, computer and special education rooms, the general purpose rooms, and service facilities. The administration area is centrally-located, and designed so that the areas for the various age groups, i.e., kindergarten, grades 1 to 6, and grades 7 and 8, are separated as distinct wings for each age group. The building design takes advantage of daylight, colour, and form to create a pleasant environment for the children.
