Edward J Cuhaci and Associates Architects Inc. was selected by the OCDSB to design the reconstruction of Broadview Public School. The new building for the school is located on the current educational campus in an established neighborhood.
The school of 75,000 sq.ft. was designed as a constituent element of the community. The replacement school building is located at the corner of Broadview and Dovercourt Avenues. The two-storey building is compatible with adjacent residences and the existing school. External and internal social and recreational facilities were designed to have a strong community presence. The new facilities were also designed to support the 21st Century Learning principles. The learning areas were designed to create a learning environment of the 21st Century, Active- learning based on problem solving and projects, different learning styles and technologies operating as ways to collaborate, communicate and learn.
