Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est

Surrounded by lush woodland, the Renfrew School Community Complex is located along the Ottawa River. The 100,000 square-foot, two-storey building accommodates 817 students. The program consists of an elementary school, a high school, and a daycare centre. A future community centre is planned. This complex will establish the presence of the French speaking community in Renfrew County.

The plan consists of a central core of shared spaces; classrooms radiate from this core. The elementary and secondary levels are separated into two distinct wings of classrooms that are linked to the core. This concept segregates the younger elementary students from the older high school students. On the ground floor, the core includes administration offices, meeting rooms, and a cafeteria. On the second floor, the two schools share a library, and a video-conference room.

To accomodate the growing student population, our office designed several additions wich consisted of classroom wings as well as a multi-purpose stage and a woodworking shop.
